Survival Horror Tormented Souls Comes to New-Gen Consoles, Cancels Last-Gen

It has been announced that classic survival horror-inspired Tormented Souls is ditching last-gen consoles in favour of new-gen, apart from the Nintendo Switch.

In August 2020 it was initially announced that Tormented Souls would be coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.  However, the PS4 and Xbox One versions have been ditched for new-gen systems.

Now Tormented Souls will release later this year for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

Tormented Souls is inspired by classic survival horror games of yesteryear such as Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and quite possibly Alone in the Dark.  Tormented Souls is published by PQube, and developed by Dual Effect and Abstract Digital Works.

I’m sure the publisher/developers have their reasons for ditching last-gen consoles, yet deciding to keep the Nintendo Switch version, but I doubt it really has anything to do with system restrictions.

That said, Tormented Souls is a game that I plan on picking up and the chances are that I will do so on the Nintendo Switch (and probably PS5).

Tormented Souls: “is a modern take on the fixed-perspective adventure. Lured to the small town of Winterlake by fate (or perhaps something altogether more sinister) play as Caroline as she fights for her life, for answers, and for an escape from the decrepit hell in which she finds herself.

Tormented Souls will be available digitally for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.  However, it will also be available in physical form for PS5 and Nintendo Switch via FunStock.

The physical copy will come with an exclusive and “collectible” Sun and Moon (sadly not Pokemon related) coin which features in the game.
