The Callisto Protocol will not have death animations behind a paywall
The Callisto Protocol will not have death animations locked behind a paywall so we can all remain calm.
The internet went into a frenzy when details were revealed for The Callisto Protocol season pass. In at least two pieces of content, it suggested that death animations will be locked behind its season pass.

The season pass will include story DLC, a waved-based mode, higher difficulty mode and more. However, in two pieces of season pass DLC, death animations were mentioned and many thought that fans had to pay for them. Thankfully, however, that isn’t quite the case.
In the Contagion Bundle, it says it includes: “thirteen new Jacob death animations”, while the Riot Bundle says: “twelve new enemy death animations”. It’s this information which had fans concerned. However, Striking Distance Studios CEO and director of The Callisto Protocol, Glen Schofield addressed those concerns.
“To be clear: We’re not holding anything back from the main game for the season pass. We haven’t even started work on this content yet,” tweeted Schofield.
To be clear: We’re not holding anything back from the main game for the season pass. We haven’t even started work on this content yet. It’s all new stuff that we’ll be working on in the new year. Fans have asked for EVEN MORE deaths, so we’re making it a priority next year.

So, there you have it, you will not have to pay for exclusive death animations. They are part of the season pass content which is being developed post-launch.
The Callisto Protocol will be released for PC, PlayStation and Xbox on December 2nd, 2023.
