2K and Supermassive Games have officially announced The Quarry to the world, and it gives me major 80s/90s horror slasher vibes.

Developed by Supermassive Games, the studio behind Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology, The Quarry looks to follow the interactive, horror movie formula. Being a fan of this studio, I have no doubts that it will be a lot of fun with plenty of gruesome deaths.

The synopsis for The Quarry reads:

It’s late summer in the remote forests of upstate New York, and the teen counsellors of Hackett’s Quarry have the camp to themselves for one final night. That means no kids, no adults, and no rules. In this thrilling cinematic tale, you control the fates of all nine camp counsellors as their party plans unravel into an unpredictable night of horror. With life-or-death decisions around every turn, the choices you make will determine how the story unfolds.

Much like The Dark Pictures Anthology, you can play The Quarry on your lonesome or co-op with friends. The Quarry supports 8 players online.

You may recognise some familiar faces, such as David Arquette (Scream), Justice Smith (Jurassic World), and Lin Shayne (A Nightmare on Elm Street, Ouija, The Grudge).

However, I can’t write this article without mentioning the RRP of The Quarry, which is much pricier compared to other titles from Supermassive Games. As spotted by Push Square, the PS5 version of The Quarry has an RRP of £59.99/$59.99 (PS4), £64.99/$69.99 (PS5) or £74.99/$79.99 for the Deluxe Edition (PS4/PS5). Compare this to The Dark Pictures Anthology which has a launch RRP of £24.99/$29.99. Hopefully, the content in The Quarry will justify the price.

The Quarry will release for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on June 10th, 2022. Are you looking forward to The Quarry? Let us know across our social media channels.
