The Witcher remake has had its open world all but confirmed thanks to a recent Q3 earnings report by CD Projekt Red.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, was open world to an extent. However, the sequel was also broken up into Acts meaning that the player was unable to revisit some locations. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, on the other hand, had a massive open world to explore. So, it might feel like a given that the recently announced remake would also feature an open world too.

That being said, as mentioned by The Gamer, the original Witcher game from 2007 on PC was mostly a level-based game. However, the recent earnings report stated that the remake will be a: “story-driven, single-player, open-world RPG — a modern reimagining of 2007’s The Witcher.”

The Witcher remake was announced earlier in the year, along with two other Witcher games. Happy days! In other related news, The Witcher 3 next-gen update arrives next month on December 14th, 2022 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

At this time, we do not have a release date for The Witcher remake, though its release is likely to be a few years away. Are you looking forward to this remake? Let us know across our social media channels.
