Fans of Turtle Beach rejoice, as a new set of headsets and accessories have been announced in calibration with the Playstation and Xbox consoles, PC and EA’s Titanfall.  Let’s kick off this article with the all new Titanfall gear.  The folks at Respawn Entertainment and Turtle Beach have worked alongside one another to capture the essence of Titanfall and will feature the “iconic marks and surface treatments” influenced from the game.

The new line of officially licensed Titanfall headsets, the XO FOUR and XO SEVEN is expected to release this coming March in correspondence with Titanfalls release and will be compatible with the Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.  From what I can gather, the Titanfall headset sells for around $149.99, with a UK price TBC.

Here’s what Turtle Beach had to say on this announced that will surely go down well with fans of both Turtle Beach and Titanfall:

Turtle Beach is honored to work with the talented teams at Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts to create headsets for fans of Titanfall” said Bob Picunko Chief Marketing Officer at Turtle Beach. “We are looking forward to working with Electronic Arts and our retail partners to support one of the biggest next-gen events of the year.

In case you didn’t know (and why not?), here’s a little about the new IP Titanfall:

Already the winner of more than 80 coveted awards from critics around the world, Titanfall is winning over fans with its thrilling, dynamic first-person action gameplay featuring elite assault pilots and agile, heavily-armored, 24-foot titans. Crafted by one of the co-creators of Call of Duty® and other key designers behind the Call of Duty franchise, Titanfall delivers a brand-new online experience that combines fluid, fast-paced multiplayer action with heroic, set-piece moments found in traditional campaign modes.

If that was enough Turtle Beach goodness for you, then we have plenty more for you that just might tickle your fancy.  Turtle Beach has announced exciting a new level in gaming audio with the HyperSound Technology.  Below is the official down-low on the latest evolution in gaming audio:

HyperSound Audio Technology

Turtle Beach and Parametric Sound also showcased HyperSoundTM audio technology, an innovation that uses a thin film to generate an ultrasonic beam of sound that can be directed and confined to a specific location, creating a precise zone of immersive audio.

“HyperSound represents a significant addition to our audio technology roadmap in 2014, and is a key driver in our pending merger with Parametric Sound Corporation,” said Stark. “HyperSound is ‘must-hear’ experience at CES, and we look forward to sharing the technology with new audiences.”

When listeners enter the beam’s radius, they hear incredibly immersive 3D audio, as if they are wearing a surround sound headset. The combination of exceptional control over the placement of audio, and the immersive quality of the sound, makes HyperSound a disruptive innovation that has the potential to dramatically change commercial, consumer, and hearing-loss markets. The technology can be experienced at the Turtle Beach booth throughout CES.

It has also been announced that a wider range of Turtle Beach gaming headsets will be available throughout 2014 for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One (and obviously current gen formats too).  While Turtle Beach have always offered great quality of audio gaming enhancements, this is a necessary step to evolve alongside the ever advancing PC gaming systems and the new generation consoles with the PS4 and Xbox One.

Not only will new Turtle Beach headsets be available, but they will also undergo a new look too.  Here’s what the Chief Executive Officer at Turtle Beach Juergen Stark had to say about the new products and partnerships:

We are excited about the new products and partnerships and what they mean for gaming audio,” he then added “We anticipate that high demand for new consoles, and our strong position heading into 2014, including a deep catalog of high quality products and industry-leading partnerships which will benefit our business into 2015 and beyond.”

Alongside the new iSeries wireless headsets, Turtle Beach also introduced the new Z60 PC Gaming Headset that will utilise DTS Headphone X, which will provide 7.1 surround sound with no need of installing drivers or to run software while gaming on your PC.  Here’s a little more information about the Z60 PC Gaming Headset straight from Turtle Beach:

The headset (Z60) connects and is powered by a single USB port on any PC, features oversize 60mm speaker drivers for improved bass response and fuller sound, and is the first gaming headset to offer drivers this size. A removable microphone and mobile adapter cable provide flexibility for mobile devices, and surround sound audio modes for game, movies and music provide an enhanced audio experience across media types. The Z60 has a U.S. MSRP of $119.95.

The Ear Force product line has always been a popular choice with Turtle Beach customers, so these new look Ear Force headsets are sure to please the Turtle Beach faithful.  Newly announced is the Ear Force Arctic Camo X12 wired headset.  According to The NPD group, in the U.S “the Ear Force X12 wired headset is the No.1 best selling 3rd party gaming headset of all time in dollar sales.”  This line in gaming headsets has not only proved popular in the states, but also in Europe and across the rest of the gaming globe.

The Ear Force Arctic Cameo X12 will be available in the U.S via GameStop from January 15th with an RRP of $69.95.  At this time I do not have pricing for the UK and Europe, but I’m sure it will mirror the price in the Pound Sterling and the Euro.

A new PS4 Upgrade Kit will allow owners of analogue stereo headsets to use the console’s optical port for game audio. A USB-powered converter takes audio from the optical SPDIF connection and outputs it through a 3.5mm stereo jack, and includes a 2.5mm to 3.5mm chat cable for chat audio. The PS4 Upgrade Kit will launch in the second quarter of 2014 with a MSRP of less than $40 USD.
