At this point, Sam Fisher, star of the iconic stealth series Splinter Cell appears in other games more than his own.  Ubisoft have plonked him in Ghost Recon, a mobile game called Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad and now he’s making an appearance in Rainbow Six: Siege.  Granted, Rainbow Six: Siege is still a very popular game and Sam Fishers role as a playable character should be fun, but seriously Ubisoft, just give him his own game again already?

To be honest, when I first saw the image of the Sam Fisher to be used in R6S, I actually thought it was Frank Castle of The Punisher.  Now that’s a cameo in this series that could be interesting!  I have to say, in an attempt to be optimistic, even though I’m sure it’s not what the majority of Splinter Cell fans want, at least Ubisoft still see some value in the Sam Fisher character, otherwise, he wouldn’t be making so many cameos.  So I’d be shocked at this point if we were not to get a new Splinter Cell game, perhaps likely on next-gen systems.

Sam Fisher will be a guest Operator in the forthcoming Operation Shadow Legacy update, entitled Specialist Zero with the full reveal to take place on Sunday, August 16th.

Do you play Rainbow Six: Siege and if so, how do you think Sam Fisher will fair in this world?  Let us know your thoughts across our social media channels.  Oh and Ubisoft, give us a new Splinter Cell game already, which Michael Ironside reprising his role, pretty please.
