Valve Are Releasing a New Half-Life Game and of Course It’s Not Half-Life 3!
Rumours surrounding Valve ever releasing a Half-Life 3 are nothing new, but I think it’s fair to say that despite Half-Life 2: Episode 2 leaving on a massive cliff-hanger (12 years ago by the way), it’s left fans feeling very frustrated for a number of years. However, new rumours started to surface this week that Valve would be releasing a Half-Life VR game and it looks like those rumours are in-fact true, as confirmed by Valve’s official Twitter account.
As the name of the VR game suggests, Half-Life: Alyx will centre on Alyx Vance, though we don’t know what the story might involve (if any). Valve has stated that Half-Life: Alyx is a “flagship VR game” and more details will be revealed this week on Thursday at 10am PT, so that’s about 6pm here in the UK.
Are you excited for this VR game or are you as depressed as me for the series? I suppose if I was being overly optimistic, if this VR game does well, hopefully it might ignite something in Valve to finally release Half-Life 3, but I doubt it. Anyway, do let us know your thoughts across our social media channels.
We’re excited to unveil Half-Life: Alyx, our flagship VR game, this Thursday at 10am Pacific Time.
