Vampire The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Delayed Indefinitely, Lead Developer Dropped

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been delayed indefinitely and to make matters worse, developer Hardsuit Labs has been dropped.

Bloodlines 2 has had a troubling time in development.  From multiple delays and some unimpressive trailers, it’s not been the best of times for the highly anticipated sequel to the 2004 PC release from Activision and Troika Games.

The last we heard of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 was that it was set to release this year, though I think many of us already expected the worst.

In a statement released on social media, publisher Paradox Interactive thanked Hardsuit Labs for laying the foundations of the game and while the game “is still in development”, the publisher felt “in order to meet our goals for it, we’ve come to the conclusion that a change is needed and, as a result, more development time is required.

Following the indefinite delay with no new release date or window, Paradox Interactive has also closed all pre-orders for the game until I assume the game is in a better state before a new release date is announced.

Being a fan of the 2004 original (which had a troubled launch of its own), I’m gutted by this news and I fear the worst for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2.  Perhaps the publisher has been spooked by the whole Cyberpunk 2077 debacle?
