Wrestlemania Teases first WWE 2K22 Gameplay

At Wrestlemania this weekend, the first gameplay tease for WWE 2K22 was teased.

Following the garbage mess that was WWE 2K20, publisher 2K Sports and developers Visual Concepts took a year out from the series and announced that WWE 2K21 will not be happening.

To be fair to Visual Concepts, they took over mid-development from previous WWE 2K developers Yukes (who are now working on an AEW game) and they never got the opportunity to make the WWE game their own.

So with the WWE 2K series taking a year out, hopefully, it gave Visual Concepts the time they needed to put their own true stamp on the franchise.

The gameplay teased at the weekends Wrestlemania briefly showcased Rey Mysterio and Cesaro, and to be fair, the snippet that we saw looked decent.  However, most WWE 2K games look decent in trailers and we’ve been burned more than once.

That said, as a pro wrestling fan, I really hope that Visual Concepts knocks it out of the park.  At this time we have no release date or platforms, but it’s safe to assume that WWE 2K22 will arrive this year.
