Communication And Messages Disabled & Wiped On PS Vita

As of right now, you can no longer communicate with your friends or randoms while playing on the ill-fated handheld PS Vita.
As covered by Push Square, following a recent announcement by Sony, you can no longer talk to other friends, players or potentially even invite others to an online game. Sure, it can be disputed that the PS Vita isn’t all that thriving compared to other rival platforms, but the PS Vita still has a loyal fan base, and this news will come as a disappointment to some.
It has also been reported that any historic messages that you may have saved on the PS Vita have not been wiped from the system. However, you should still be able to access all PlayStation messages via a PS5, PS5, and smartphone app.
