Finally, EA has finally announced plans to test cross-play in the FIFA series, starting with FIFA 22.

As reported by Eurogamer, EA shared plans that testing will begin in FIFA 22 for all players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S as well as Google Stadia.

The test will be restricted to Online Seasons and Online Friendlies. So, you’ll be able to partake in cross-play against randoms as well as your friends. Players can choose to opt-in or opt-out of the cross-play test and players will be alerted via an in-game notification.

Players will also be able to search a friend’s account via FIFA 22s main menu, by looking up their EA account name or console tag/platform.
