Canabalt: Free Running Gets Shrunk

We all know how addictive free running games are since they burst onto the scene a couple of years ago, and there are now a couple of gems on the iPhone and the iPod Touch.

For just £1.79 you can get one of the most addictive games that I have played on the iPod.

Clicking the screen makes your character jump, and that’s the only control you need. Jump across roofs, cranes, billboards, and through offices as you gather speed, avoiding boxes as you go. The background features an apocalyptic War of the Worlds style scene, where robots roam and buildings are destroyed. Sometimes buildings are destroyed from beneath you, or devices are dropped that obliterate you unless you avoid them, adding an extra twist to the game.

The high scores system is huge, saving your top 50, and multiple profiles mean that you can compete against friends, as well as online high scores. All in all, one of the best £1.79’s you’ll ever spend.
