In a time before the Keyblade Bearer Sora, there were 3 students all wishing to ascend to the Mark of Mastery and there was a Keyblade Master named Xehanort.

Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep for the PSP system follows the gameplay that is used in the PS2 titles. This on the PSP system is nothing short of a good idea. With new ideas added to the mix this game is on fire. The best new addition comes in the form of special limit moves that are charged up on a combo meter. However the limit move that is unleashed at the end of the meter is different depending on the moves you use in the process. There is also a new system where you target an enemy with a sniper scope of sorts and build up a maximum of 15 shots. These are then unleashed onto your enemy to cause some raw damage.

The story revolves around 3 characters named Terra, Ventus and Aqua. The 3 of them try to achieve the Mark of Mastery, a ranking the highest of Keyblade Bearers hold. However after only Aqua passes due to strange darkness being unleashed on Terra, the trio must venture out to find master Xehanort who disappeared shortly after the test. It has also been revealed that a new kind of darkness has been released in the form of the heartless. So you must choose a character and play their story through from start till finish leading to you linking up all the answers.

The soundtrack for the game has many of the wonderful jingles from the original PS2 titles and some more created for the new worlds you venture to. The soundtrack quality has definitely stepped up from the DS title 358/2 Days so all in all this is a great step forward in the Kingdom Hearts line. The multiplayer involves taking control of more than one player and doing various different challenges, which is very enjoyable.

The graphics in this game are particularly good but then again this is a Square Enix game. They are bold, vibrant and capture some very beautiful images particularly in the cut-scenes. Really this game is enjoyable to play because of the seemless graphics that hold it together. Another great job on Enix’s part.
