Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection features 12 games, including the 1987 original

The 30th anniversary of the iconic Street Fighter series is upon us and to celebrate this incredible birthday, Capcom are releasing the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection.  In total, this collection includes 12 games from the long-running series including the original Street Fighter, not the Street Fighter II: The World Warrior from 1991, but the original arcade Street Fighter from 1987!

Featured in the collection of 12 games, four of which will be playable online, such as Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Street Fighter III: Third Strike.  You’ll also be able to fight against the CPU while you wait for an online opponent to connect with lobbies supporting up to four players.  Each of the online games will also have their own Ranked leadboards and a “rewind” tech that will ensure low-latency with online battles, providing you with a smoother online experience as possible.  They’ll also be additional bonus features such as a Museum that will allow you to explore detailed and stunning art work from throughout the series, character bios and interactive timelines featuring facts for each release of the game, as well as various Street Fighter themes with the in-game music player.

For me, while like many, I have played just about every Street Fighter to death, however, it’s the 1987 original that I am most excited to play.  Not because it will be the best game or that I have never played it, but because of a very vivid memory from my childhood.  I don’t know what the year was, other than it was between the years 1987-1989 and when going on a family holiday, I remember my family attending a nearby pub.  Located in the pub was an arcade machine and on that arcade machine was the original Street Fighter, which I must have played for hours.  I don’t know what the year was or where we were on holiday, but I remember quite clearly my first experience with the series and since that lost moment, I have been waiting to relive that vivid memory and I can’t wait to revisit there once again.
