Get a first look at the new War Mode mission in Call of Duty WWII

In the first DLC Map Pack for Call of Duty: WWII, not only will we be getting three new multiplayer maps and a new chapter in the Zombies saga, but we’ll also be getting a new mission for the online War Mode.

The new mission in War Mode is called Operation Intercept with the mission taking place just outside of St Lo, France.  Here, players are tasked with rescuing resistance fighters from the clutches of the Nazi’s and in order to do so, they must stop them from being transported by train to a prison camp.  The teams will be split into two, the Allies and the Axis (aka Nazi’s); the Axis job is pretty simple, stop the Allies from taking your prisoners and destroying your train.

In the first wave, the Allies must first make it to the prison cells where the prisoners are being held; in the second wave you must destroy the Axis communication equipment, before finally escorting a tank in order to stop the Axis from putting a halt to your escape plans.

As already mentioned, The Resistance Map Pack will include three new multiplayer maps (as well as the Zombies; The Dark Shore), details and images of the new maps can be found below.

Anthropoid – Based in Prague, Czechoslovakia, this map is inspired by Operation Anthropoid – the famous assassination attempt on a high-ranking German officer during World War II. This map features a center lane divided by a river, with long-flanking paths that can be used by snipers for ranged attacks.

Occupation – In this remake of a classic Call of Duty map, players battle through the streets and shops of German-occupied Paris during WWII. Long side streets encourage mid-range combat, with nearby homes and storefronts lending defensive positions for ambush and recovery.

Valkyrie – Located in the Masurian Woods, East Prussia, this map was inspired by The Wolf’s Lair – Hitler’s Eastern-front headquarters during Operation Barbarossa – the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union. This is a medium-sized map with gameplay focused around a dangerous center lane covered by multiple overwatch positions and mounted machine guns.

Also as announced last week, running until February 27th is the free Resistance Event, which includes new modes, gear, free supply drops and more, details can be found hereThe Resistance Map Pack itself will release first next week for PlayStation 4 on January 30th, then for PC and Xbox One about a month later, it will be included in the games season pass or for individual purchase.
