Shenmue 3 Raised over $7m as Crowdfunding Comes to a Close
Since its record-breaking Kickstarter campaign launching at E3 2015, over the last three years, Shenmue III has been steadily raising funding to ensure that this long-awaited follow-up will see the light of day. During its Kickstarter campaign, it had raised over $6 million in crowd-funding and when that campaign came to a close, a further $1 million was raised through Slacker Backer. Bringing the total to a mightily impressive $7,179,510 from 81, 087 backers.
Not only has the Shenmue III crowdfunding campaign raised a very impressive total, but during its initial Kickstarter launch, it became the fastest game to raise $1 million and it even reached $2 million in just a mere 24 hours. So if you still had any concerns that this game would ever release, those concerns should be put at ease, despite suffering multiple release date delays.
