As with any prior release to the latest instalment of the Call of Duty series, leaks are plentiful, which is why it’s no real secret that we should expect to see the Black Ops series from developers Treyarch in 2020 and recent sources have stated those rumours to be true.

According to Twitter user Okami who posted a very basic mock-up picture with the name Call of Duty: Cold War, claims this to be the title of the forthcoming release.  So Eurogamer got on to the case to discuss the speculation with their sources and they confirmed that the name Call of Duty: Cold War is genuine.  In my experience, Eurogamer have proven to have reliable sources, so I have little reason to doubt their reports.

While it comes as no shock what-so-ever with a new Call of Duty releasing every year, for some, the Black Ops series is the best in the franchise, in particular with the first two games.  This should also please fans, considering the short comings of Black Ops 4 which featured no singleplayer campaign, a main stay in the franchise and its best feature for so many.  For me personally, as much as I enjoy the Black Ops multiplayer, it’s always the singleplayer that comes to mind when I think of this series.

Eurogamer has contacted publisher Activision for a comment, which they declined, because they have no reason to announce a game through speculation.  But true to typical fashion, I’m sure something will be officially announced in the coming months.
