It feels like a while since we’ve had any positive (and interesting) news regarding anything to do with the System Shock franchise. But here we are with a new demo for the remaster of the original System Shock.

Coming a little out of nowhere, the demo can be got on Steam and GoG and looks to give you a run about in the medical bay with some of the title’s fancy weapons. I’ve not played the demo yet, but the screenshots you can see below can give you an idea.

The thought process behind the game was to give the original game a complete overhaul (so a remake essentially), however maintaining the story, gameplay and style of the first title.

So far we’ve not seen nearly enough to determine how accurate this is, but it seems that despite it all Nightdive Studios are giving it a shot.

Hopefully there can be more news on the System Shock 3 game that peaks a more positive interest.

The developers tease that more info should be revealed on this remaster in June.
