Ubisoft and Netflix has announced that they are working together to bring a mature adaptation animated Splinter Cell series.  Leading the charge will be the writer of the fantastic John Wick movie series, Derek Kolstad.  At this time, the series is signed up for two seasons with 16 episodes in each.  However, I would imagine that if this series proves to be a success, more seasons will follow.

It’s been a turbulent time for fans of the Splinter Cell series, because not only has there been no sign of it ever releasing on current-gen systems (which I think that possibility has now long passed), we’ve had to make do with lame Sam Fisher cameo’s in the Ghost Recon series and Ubisoft mobile games.

However, there have been reports from the Italian voice-actor for Sam Fisher that a new Splinter Cell game was supposed to release this year, until COVID-19 stealth killed those plans.  How true this is, remains to be seen, but at least with this Netflix series, Ubisoft does appear to have interest, so hopefully we’ll see Sam Fisher release in a next-gen Splinter Cell instalment.

Are you looking forward to this animated series?  I just have two requests, make it good and have Michael Ironside as the voice of Sam Fisher.  Share your thoughts on this Splinter Cell series across our social media channels.
