As you might have noticed in our review for Horizon: Zero Dawn Complete Edition on the PC, we absolutely loved how good the actual game was, but were disappointed with how lacking the PC port was in comparison. Missing features like snow deformation and bad overall performance on the older architecture of Nvidia graphic cards really dampened the excitement of the full package.

However, to Guerrilla’s credit, they have been continuously trying to patch the game, reliably releasing important fixes in increments. And now, it appears by patch 1.04 not only has the Snow Deformation been added in, but the game performs a lot better!

Where compared to an average of  35 fps I was getting before, I am now able to comfortably sit around 50 FPS on favored quality, which is a noticeable improvement that makes the game so much more enjoyable! The game already looked and played stunningly, but now it even runs well.

Whilst the game’s performance is much better now, we will not be updating the original review’s score as we don’t want to encourage a “release now, fix later” approach, and believe that games should be on this level of playability at launch, especially as they are not cheap!
