However, that was not all, because we got news on the animated show, a number of fun collaborations, and much more.

Firstly, Sonic Colors: Ultimate is a remaster of the 2010 release. It will of course feature all the improved visuals, performance, and all the extra bells and whistles that you would expect from a modern-day remaster.

There’ll be a number of editions for Sonic Colors: Ultimate that you’ll be able to pick up both retail and digitally. At retail, you can pick up the standard edition which will come with a Baby Sonic Keychain.

The Sonic Colors: Ultimate Digital Deluxe will come with the digital content detail above, as well as the Ultimate Cosmetic Pack and Ultimate Music Pack.

Ultimate Cosmetic Pack: Customize Sonic and stand out with exclusive gold and silver gloves and shoes, an electric boost and aura from the hit Sonic movie, and exclusive Sonic movie-themed player icons.

Ultimate Music Pack: Three exclusive original game remixes to set the pace for you while you put an end to Dr. Eggman. Additionally, the Digital Deluxe will also grant buyers early access to the game starting from Friday, September 3rd.

Sonic Colors: Ultimate will be released for PC (via Epic Game Store), PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on September 7th this year.

Alongside the Sonic Colors: Ultimate announcement was Sonic Colors: Rise of the Wisps, a two-part animated series featuring the voice of Sonic, Roger Craig Smith.

In other Sonic news, Sonic Origins was also announced which is basically another collection of the retro classics which includes Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, 3, Sonic & Knuckles, as well as Sonic CD. Apparently, Sonic Origins will come with some new content and features.

A new Sonic the Hedgehog game was also teased called Sonic Team which is from the developers of Sonic Generations and Sonic Forces. Sonic Team is expected to release in 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

In terms of collaborations, Sonic the Hedgehog will be appearing as a playable avatar in the official Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 video game, which releases on PC and consoles on June 22nd.
