Resident Evil Re:Verse Has Been Delayed Into 2022
Capcom has announced that the multiplayer spin-off, Resident Evil Re:Verse has suffered another delay, this time pushing it back into 2022.
Resident Evil Re:Verse was bundled in for free with copies of Resident Evil: Village when it was released on May 7th. May had assumed that Re:Verse would launch alongside Village, but that wasn’t to be.
Capcom later announced at E3 this year that Re:Verse would launch in the summer, but again that wasn’t to be. Now, Capcom has announced that Re:Verse won’t release until 2022. At the time of writing, there is no set release date.
The previously announced July 2021 launch of Resident Evil Re:Verse is being moved to 2022 so that the team can continue working to deliver a smooth gameplay experience. We will share updated launch details at a later time. Thank you for your patience and understanding. pic.twitter.com/o8hP363fjR

After playing the beta for Re:Verse, it wasn’t good. The gameplay felt shallow, and the combat felt hollow. Worst of all, it just didn’t feel right. So, in that respect, I can understand why the multiplayer spin-off has suffered multiple delays.
However, ever since Re:Verse was announced earlier in the year, it wasn’t universally welcomed by the Resident Evil community, and a beta and gameplay trailers haven’t helped its cause.
At this point, I think it might be worth Capcom scrapping the game altogether at this point. Because let’s be honest, if there was ever to be a game dead on arrival, it would be Re:Verse.
In an ideal world, I would love Capcom to replace it with HD ports of Resident Evil: Outbreak and its sequel with online play, but I know that won’t happen, unfortunately.
