Dying Light is available now for the Nintendo Switch, though not for every region, at least digitally anyway.

With the likes of The Witcher 3 and Alien Isolation, the Nintendo Switch has proved once more that with some acceptable tweaks, quite demanding games can make for decent ports on the hybrid console. The latest of which is the aforementioned Dying Light.

Dying Light: Platinum Edition on Nintendo Switch will come packed with all previous content updates and DLC. It will also take advantage of the Switch’s functions such as HD rumble, gyro aiming, and motion controls. You can even play it co-op locally or online.

Here’s a rundown of what’s included in Dying Light: Platinum Edition for the Nintendo Switch:

  • Dying Light – the full award-winning game.
  • Dying Light: The Following – a huge expansion complete with a new story, vast original map, and a customizable buggy to drive.
  • Dying Light: Bozak Horde – a challenging game mode with its own side story.
  • Cuisine & Cargo – two additional quarantine zones.
  • Ultimate Survivor Bundle – a set of exclusive weapons and outfits.
  • Hellraid – a new game mode that takes place in a dark-fantasy setting.
  • A large collection of skins and weapons that will make slaughtering zombies even more fun.

However, while Dying Light: Platinum Edition is available digitally in most regions, due to German law and it being banned in its country, currently you cannot buy the game digitally via the eShop in the UK. In fact, Germany’s ban means that the whole of Europe is not able to buy the digital version.

As detailed in my article for GameByte, Techland is looking at ways to resolve this issue, so hopefully, there’ll be a fix soon enough. Otherwise, you can always buy the physical copy of the game and depending on where you buy it from, it comes with some bonus physical goodies.

Its sequel, Dying Light 2: Stay Human will release for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on February 4th, 2022. A cloud version of the game will also be released in select regions for the Nintendo Switch.
