Warner Bros Games has announced Multiverses, a free-to-play multiplayer brawler inspired by the Super Smash Bros. series.

With its near-endless possibilities of franchises, Multiverses will pit characters from DC Comics, Game of Thrones, Scooby-Doo, Adventure Time, Lord of the Rings and much more. Have you ever wanted to see Shaggy vs. Superman? Well now is your chance!

Developed by Player First Games, Multiverses will be a co-op 2 vs. 2 Team-Based brawler and to be honest, it looks like it might be a lot of fun. Though we can never truly tell until we actually play the game.

Multiverses supports full cross-play across PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. To ensure that Multiverses has the smoothest online multiplayer experience possible, it will have dedicated server-based rollback netcode, as well as content-filled seasons.

Players will be able to customise your favourite character’s cosmetic style, as well as their move-set. So, in other words, you will be able to tinker with each character’s fighting style to suit your own. In terms of modes, Multiverses will feature 1 vs. 1, 2 vs.2 and 4-player free-for-all.

Furthermore, iconic actors will reprise roles for the equally iconic characters. For example, Kevin Conroy (Batman), Tara Strong (Harley Quinn), George Newbern (Superman), Abby Trott (Wonder Woman), Matthew Lillard (Shaggy), Masie Williams (Arya Stark), John DiMaggio (Jake the Dog), Jeremy Shada (Finn the Human), and much more.

I know Multiverses is free-to-play, but I hope that monetisation isn’t too aggressive and hinders the gameplay experience. If you want a chance to test Multiverse before its release, you can register your interest to take part in its upcoming beta.

Are you looking forward to Multiverses? Let us know across our social media channels. Multiverses will release worldwide in 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
