Horizon Forbidden West Patch Makes Looting Super-Fast!

The latest patch for Horizon Forbidden West has added a new feature that makes the looting super-fast!
Patch 1.09 actually went live last week, but if you were unaware of this improved looting system, don’t be surprised. To be honest, I wasn’t aware of it either until now. The reason many of us may not have noticed this particular improvement could be down to the fact that it never even appeared in the patch notes.

However, as reported by Push Square, Twitter user Retr0 shared a clip of Aloy looting resources faster than usual. As Horizon Forbidden West players will know, whenever you’re looting items, you have to press Triangle. To be fair, this was never really a bother. However, if you’re a speedrunner, this subtle improvement could make a difference in the long run.

By visiting the in-game options, you can now toggle on/off Aloy’s animation when picking up items. Sure, you still have to press Triangle, but Aloy will now pick up the items without crouching. This means that you can now spam the Triangle button to your heart’s content and loot items faster than ever.
