Surprise! Monkey Island Is Coming Back This Year!

Surprise, after more than 30 years, the iconic point & click series Monkey Island is getting a sequel to Monkey Island 2.
To be fair, Monkey Island has had plenty of releases including some sequels as well as remasters; the series made its debut in 1990. However, Return to Monkey Island is said to be a direct follow-up to Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge.
Return to Monkey Island will be led by Ron Gilbert and his Terrible Toybox studio. Ron Gilbert was the creative lead of the first two original games.

Gilbert will also be joined by Dave Grossman, who will be aiding the development, as well as the writing. Return to Monkey Island will also be published by Devolver Digital, in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games.
