CD Projekt Red has announced that two new The Witcher games are going to be in development.

This is in addition to the other Witcher game that was recently announced. Unlike the recent Witcher game announcement, the two new additions will not be developed by CDRP.

The first game is dubbed “Project Sirius” and is to be developed by US studio, The Molasses Flood. All we know about this project is that it’s described as “an innovated take on The Witcher universe telling an unforgettable story for existing Witcher fans and new audiences.

Furthermore, the second newly announced Witcher game is dubbed “Project Canis Majoris”. This game will be developed by a third-party studio made up of “ex-Witcher veterans.” In terms of what kind of game it will be, it has been confirmed as an “open world RPG set in The Witcher universe.

Meanwhile, the previously announced Witcher game has been confirmed to be the start of a new trilogy and is currently in pre-production. This main Witcher game has been dubbed “Project Polaris”.

CD Projekt Red states that it aims to release all three Witcher games within a six-year period following the release of Project Polaris. So, at least we know that the next main Witcher game is likely to be six years away.

Let’s not forget that the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S ports of The Witcher 3 are currently planned to release this year. There’s so much Witcher goodness on the way! Of course, with the games being years away from launching, they will not release for PS4 or Xbox One.
