The first proper post-launch update has arrived for the Resident Evil multiplayer game, Re:Verse. The new update in question adds a brand-new map, a new playable character as well as Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine skins inspired by Resident Evil 5.

Firstly, the new map is the Village from, well, Resident Evil Village. This particular addition is very much needed, because prior to now, Re:Verse only had two maps. Now it has the RPD, the Baker Compound and the Village.

The new Village map is: “centred around the Maiden of War statue located in the village square, and features multiple wide-open areas as well as those with plenty of cover.

Furthermore, we have also been treated to a new playable character. The new addition is Tundra, a member of Chris Redfield’s Hound Wolf Squad. Tundra is said to be a: “poison and virus specialist [and}a highly technical character, who bewilders her opponents before unleashing a devastating attack.

Finally, two new character skins for Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine are available to purchase. Both outfits are inspired by Resident Evil 5 and cost £2.49 each. However, this just makes me want an RE5 remake now.

Resident Evil Re:Verse is a free game for those that own RE Village. However, this game would probably be better suited as a free-to-play for all.

In related RE goodness, in my review of Resident Evil Village: Winters Expansion, I said: “Shadow of Rose is a fantastic stint and offers closure for the Winters family.

“The Mercenaries is more fun than ever and the third-person perspective offers yet another incentive to play the main campaign. If you’re a fan of Resident Evil Village, the Winters Expansion is an essential addition and one that you should pick up now
