What have you been up to?
This month I have been very busy doing all the back end stuff that keeps the website running for you users! Whilst doing all that tiring stuff I have been relaxing playing FIFA 11 as usual against my friends and some people on Xbox Live. I managed during my busy endeavors I managed to watch several films including a fan favorite Scott Pilgrim.  I also visited a Carboot last Saturday and picked up 48 PS1 titles for £10.

Gaming/Movie disappointment of the month
Soulblade (PS1)

Favourite Game Console
The Dreamcast, One of the first home consoles to fully use online gaming to a point you were able to play with 1000’s of over people world wide. Many classics during it’s short life span including Sonic Adventure and Evolution. Oh and Quake!

Games Completed this Month –
Dragon Age 2 (360)

Films and TV Watched –
Blood: The last Vampire, FFVII Advent children, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. Latest Naruto Shippuden, Bleach, Steins Gate and Blue Exorcist.

Best Pickup of the month –
Final Fantasy VI (PS1) to add to the collection

What have you been up to? –
This month I haven’t had much desire to play either the 360 or PS3, so instead I have been playing through Final Fantasy IX on PS1 and enjoying its many many splendors that bring back distant memories playing it as a kid.

Gaming/Movie disappointment of the month –
The animated film; ‘Blood: The Last Vampire’ holds an interesting storyline about a young vampire girl who is out to destroy demons that feed on human blood. However,  this fell short at a mere 48 minutes leaving me with many unanswered questions that  ideally should have been cleared up in the film.

Gaming/Movie highlight of the month –
Beating Barthandelus (Chapter 11)  on Final Fantasy XIII  was a huge relief for me  as I had been stuck on him for a while. I finally decided to watch FFVII Advent Children with the English dub which while nowhere near as good as the Japanese version, was still  surprisingly good.

Best Pickup of the month –
Tomb Raider (PS1) – Completes my Tomb Raider collection

What have you been up to? –
This month was quite varied for me again, with a mix of many varied games from Bayonetta to Anno (Wii) as well as the fact that I went paintballing for the first time ever!
I spent a week down with my parents and blasted through the charity shops there, finding a number of PS1 and PC titles, as well as the Killer Instincts soundtrack.
Highlights of the month include Ninja Blade which was a surprisingly enjoyable high action title, even though the last boss nearly broke my controller. AC Bloodlines manages to keep the same console gameplay but on a smaller scale, and I watched the last episode of Carnivale wishing that there was another season.

Gaming/Movie disappointment of the month –
Giving up on Prisoner Of War (Xbox) after I felt that it gave me little to no direction, as well as being very punishing. I may go back to it later.

Favourite Game Console –
The Dreamcast. Highly varied and creative game library with unique titles such as Jet Set Radio, Metropolis Street Racer, Samba De Amigo and Shenmue. The VMU was before its time, unfortunately the console didn’t have a long life.

UFC 2009 Undisputed (PS3) – £3… BARGAIN!

What have you been up to? –
In regards to gaming, the majority of my month has been focused on Demon’s Souls (PS3), getting myself pumped up for Dark Souls coming out later this year. Starting from the very beginning, I’ve clocked up almost 30 hours worth of gameplay, and I’m just about to face the final boss. I am not going to lie, there were numerous times that I felt like crying with how punishing the game is. But the game is so rewarding when you do succeed that I just went with it anyway.
I also got a Platinum trophy on Captain America: Super Soldier, Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters, and Shadows of the Damned (Captain America being the most enjoyable of the three).

Gaming/Movie disappointment of the month –
One night I was channel surfing, and there was nothing on what so ever, and on the film channels I came across AVP: Requiem. As a mega-fan of both Alien and Predator franchises, I’ve tried to avoid it after everything that I have heard from both friends and critics. But boredom got the best of me… I was better off going to bed.

Favourite Game Console –
The PlayStation 2 – I have had some of my best moments as a gamer with the PlayStation 2. Looking back at almost every Friday night after school where I and numerous friends would get together for a night of gaming and take aways. I had my PS2 for six years, and it never broke, never needed repairing or replacing, sleek and sexy design, and the most incredible array of titles that I instantly fell in love with. It was an excellent piece of gaming hardware, and it still is.

It isn’t the biggest selling game console in history for nothing.

Games Completed this Month –
Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures (360), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 1) (360) and Fable III (360)

Films and TV Watched –
Family Guy (Lots of it), Saw 7, Shrek: Forever After, Sucker Punch, Alvin and the Chipmunks 2, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, Resident Evil Afterlife, Remember Me, Burke and Hare

Best Pickup of the month –
Fable III (360) – well, I love this series and I rather needed it!

What have you been up to? –
This month was my first moth off college, and I haven’t really done that much. Went and saw the last Harry Potter film, which was amazing and then just played through games which I have needed to complete and/or collect all the achievements on. Surely that’s very time consuming but oh well! I have been round my girlfriends as well and created lists of all the games and dvd’s that I have…I got very bored.

Gaming/Movie disappointment of the month –
I suppose Shrek: Forever After. It didn’t have the same effect as the other three and felt like a bit of a let down!

Favourite Game Console –
Blimey…umm most probably the Nintendo 64 as it had some of my favourite games ever such as Ocarina of Time, Banjo-Kazooie, and Lylat Wars. Can’t get better than that 😛

Edward – Film Critic

Films and TV Watched –
Blu-Ray: Evangelion 2.22 You (Cannot) Advance.  Akira.
DVD: Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Dogma. Mallrats.Withnail and I.  Easy A. The Town. Sky Crawlers. The Kids Are Alright. Swimming with Sharks. Cowboy Bebop: The Movie.
Cinema: Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Tree of Life. Captain America: The First Avenger. Horrible Bosses.

Best Pickup of the month –
Chasing Amy. Probably  Kevin Smith’s best feature.

What have you been up to? –
Hitting the gym mainly, two Graphic Design interviews and getting started on Push-Start. All good

Gaming/Movie disappointment of the month –
I would say Transformers 3, but what exactly was there to be disappointed by? So I’m going to go with Harry Potter 7 part 2, for being a tepid and worthless climax to a mediocre franchise

Favourite Game Console –
Hmmm, tricky. I would say PS3 as it is my current flagship console, but PS2 was the one that raised the game. Plus, I’m a sucker for Final Fantasy’s X, X-2 and XII.

What am I looking forward to next month?
Ripping into Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Cowboys and Aliens. More Overdues on the way as well!
