Final Fantasy 16 DLC could be on the way
It seems that Square Enix is considering releasing story DLC for the recently released Final Fantasy XVI.
While apparently not in development at this time, FFXVI producer, Naoki Yoshida previously told Game Informer that DLC is something that is under consideration. Despite being developed as a “one-off game” in mind, DLC is something that could happen if “players around the world want to see more of it.”
What’s more, in an interview with GamerBraves, Yoshida explained: “As you know, going into Final Fantasy XVI, the one thing we wanted to create was a full complete story, something that you can enjoy from beginning to end, 100% without any DLC, and I think we were able to do that.
“But now we understand we’re getting feedback from players that have played the game, and lots of players want to see more, and we know that and understand that. For us, we’re taking that and then thinking about our options moving forward. So hopefully in the future, we can have something that we can give to you all.”
If you’re a Final Fantasy fan, in particular the most recent game, I can’t imagine that there will be many fans that wouldn’t want its story expanded upon. So if you want more FFXVI, let’s make our voices heard across social media.
