Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 release date announced this October
Just when we thought we couldn’t get enough Spidey goodness from the recent PlayStation Showcase event, we just got a release date and a Collector’s Edition revealed.
We first saw some juicy gameplay for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 during the aforementioned PlayStation Showcase. However, at the time, we still had no release date. Thankfully, all was revealed at Summer Game Fest.
As well as the release date, the pre-order bonuses as well as the Deluxe and Collector’s Edition were also revealed and I’ll let you know what’s included.
Firstly, no matter which version of the game you pre-order, you will receive an early unlock for the Arachknight Suit for Peter as well as three additional colour variants, an early unlock Shadow Spider Suit for Miles with three more colour variants, an early unlock Web Grabber gadget, and three skill points.
The standard edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has an RRP of £69.99/€79.99/$69.99.
The Digital Deluxe has an RRP of £79.99/ €89.99/$79.99 and will include 10 unique suits (five each for Peter and Miles), additional Photo Mode frames and stickers, and two additional skill points.
Finally, the Collector’s Edition has an RRP of £219.99/€249.99/$229.99 which includes a voucher for the Digital Deluxe Edition, as well as a Steelbook case, a high-quality 19-inch statue featuring our Spider-Men battling Venom.
Unfortunately, it looks like this Collector’s Edition will not come with a physical disc, but instead a digital code. According to the post on the PS Blog, the Collector’s Edition will be available to order via your region’s PlayStation Direct store. However, it’s perhaps worth keeping a lookout for retailers, just in case.
All pre-orders will go live on Friday, 16 June. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released for PlayStation 5 on 20 October 2023.
