Halo Infinite Retail Reportedly Doesn’t Include the Full Game
According to a report from tech experts Digital Foundry, the retail disc version of Halo Infinite will not include the full game.
In a nutshell, it seems that the game that was copied onto the retail disc is the version without a day one patch. As a result, technically, the full game isn’t on the disc and is missing content.
You can of course play the full game, but you’ll need an internet connection. So, if you buy the disc version at launch but you’re having internet issues, then you may be out of luck. DFs John Linneman elaborated his findings on Twitter.
My biggest complaint regarding Halo Infinite really is that the disc doesn’t contain a playable game. This’ll be the first Halo game you can’t really own as a standalone copy. This is not a good trend and I hope MS reconsiders things like this.

Yeah, from what I’ve seen, if you install it while offline, it says it’s incomplete. If you go online and let it try to start, it’ll tell you to wait until December 8th.

Hopefully, this issue will be fixed, because physical or digital, you should always have access to the product you’ve bought regardless of whether you have an internet connection.
