Sony’s PSVR2 has a release date of February 22nd, 2023 and it costs more than a PlayStation 5.

Furthermore, Sony not only finally announced the release date for the PSVR2, but it has also revealed just how much it will cost, and it’s going to cost quite a lot.

The PSVR2 has an RRP of £529.99/€549.99/$549.99 USD. This is in comparison to the RRP for the original PSVR which was released in 2019 with an RRP of £329.99/€399.99/$399.99. However, it’s fair to say that the PSVR2 is far more advanced in terms of specifications than its predecessor.

Furthermore, unlike the original PSVR, you will not need to buy an external camera, thanks to the PSVR2 having four built-in cameras that track your movements. You won’t need to buy additional controllers either as the PSVR2 comes bundled with two Sense controllers.

Speaking of bundles, at launch you will also be able to pick up the PSVR2 bundled with Horizon Call of the Mountain for £569.99/€599.99/$599.99 USD.

Most popular retailers will be stocking the PSVR2 including PlayStation Direct. However, pre-orders will go live on November 15th. Unfortunately, I imagine that greedy scalpers will claim much of the stock before genuine fans even get a chance. Which will no doubt result in inflated third-party listings on eBay.

The scalper problem will never go away as long as desperate fans fill their pockets. So please, avoid temptation and do not feed the monsters. Otherwise, the scalper issue will never go away. Be patient, and you’ll no doubt get a PSVR2 at the proper RRP.

There will also be a PSVR2 Sense Controller Charging Station with an RRP of £39.99/€49.99/$49.99 USD. Which will come in handy for sure.
