The Uncharted game that started it all in the Naughty Dog series could be set for a much-needed and deserved remake, that’s if a recent rumour is to be believed.

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune was originally released in 2007 for the PlayStation 3 and while it was a very fun game, it was a bit janky, but perhaps in a loveable way. However, I don’t think many appreciated its persistence on the DualShock 3’s motion controls. Thankfully, that nuisance was corrected in the 2015 remastered collection.

Yet, according to XboxEra hosts Nick Baker and John Clarke, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune could be set for a PlayStation 5 remake. The pair claim that the idea of the remake was pitched to Sony “a number of years ago” and was “at the very least, it was being strongly considered” for production. Obviously, we know that remake hasn’t arrived, at least as of now.

Hopefully, this rumour is true, because it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting Uncharted 5 anytime soon and it would be a shame if the PS5 would be the first console not to have an Uncharted game since it began in 2007, and a remake of the OG would certainly please a lot of fans.

At least for the time being, you can play the original Uncharted series courtesy of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection which is available on PS4 and backwards compatible with PS5.
