Emblem fans be praised! Last month Nintendo released their first peek at the newest game in the Fire Emblem franchise. Fire Emblem (working title) for the Nintendo 3DS.

The game is without a title as you can see, but so far it shows promise to deliver on all the goodness the last game brought us, plus more. Throughout the trailer we see Cavalry, Pegasus knights, Archers, Swordmasters, and even a huge Golem smacking around a handful of soldiers. Little plot is revealed at this time, but from what’s present it looks as though this most recent title will take a lot of inspiration from feudal Japan and Asian culture. A lot of the weapons and armour look fit for this period, and many of the locations we’re shown look right at home within the eastern reaches of the Orient.

It seems that features such as dual-striking are retained as well as the charming sprites and animations from the last game, Fire Emblem: Awakening. A few new touches are thrown it too; when entering combat the camera now seamlessly zooms down into the area of the map where the fight occurs and the sprites appear ready to fight. In addition, the backgrounds features much more attention to detail which brings the quality up all round.

By the looks of things the continued streak of Protagonists with Blue hair will remain unbroken, but altered as we see a blue-haired dancing girl featuring a lot in the video. Is she the primary protagonist? Or can we expect another Ike or Chrom? Time will tell, but for now we remain excited and are looking forward to more news on this game as it develops.
