Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 – Here’s a look at its huge New York map

During the PlayStation’s State of Play event, we were treated to a generous helping of new Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 gameplay.

In the latest trailer, we got a glimpse of New York’s two-island map of Manhattan featuring East River, Queens and Brooklyn packed with story missions, side quests and fun activities. We also learned how players can instantly switch between Peter Parker and Miles Morales on the fly, perhaps similar to the likes of GTA V.

In terms of Spidey suits, there will be a whopping 65 to unlock, some inspired by movies, TV and comics, with others being original designs. What’s more, we got to see more of the awesome wing-suit in action which should be a fantastic addition to web-slinging. If that wasn’t enough, colour shaders can be applied to suits offering over 200 variations.

Kraven the Hunter also featured in the trailer, along with Venom and other villains were teased. I’m not 100% sure, but one male character gave me some Mysterio vibes.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released on 20 October 2023 for PlayStation 5.
