This week, Square Enix held its own State of Play event dedicated to the upcoming second part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake with Rebirth. However, from what I hear it was a very spoiler-fest event.

Revealed during the Final Fantasy VIII Rebirth event was that a playable demo is now available to download and play for free right now. More accurately, this “demo” is actually the first chapter of the full game in which your saved data will carry over and you will also acquire some in-game items for playing it.

“Players with save data from the demo will receive the Kupo Charm and Survival Set in the full game. These players will also be able to skip past sections covered in the “Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim” demo. Players must ensure their game is fully updated to take advantage of these benefits,” reads the press release from Square Enix.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 5 on 29 February 2024.
