This week we celebrated Pokémon Day with new merch reveals, updates to Pokémon Go, Pokémon TCG, Pokémon Unite and much more during the Pokémon Presents Event.

However, the biggest news coming out of the video presentation was the announcement of Pokémon Legends Z-A which is taking place in Luminose City. It’s announced for “Nintendo Switch systems” for 2025. Whether this means current Switch consoles as well as the rumoured successor, remains to be seen.

Not much was given away in terms of details, but we do know that Lumiose City was a location in Pokémon X & Y which were released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2013, and Pokémon Z-A is said to take place in this city throughout.

We’ll also see the return of Mega Evolutions which have not only featured in Pokémon X and Y but also Omega Ruby and Alpha, Sun and Moon, Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee, as well as the mobile game, Pokémon GO.

That’s pretty much all we have to go on at this time, but hopefully, Nintendo will release a proper gameplay trailer and launch date in the coming months.
