We already know that two Resident Evil series’ are coming to Netflix, one being a live-action and the other being an animation.  However, the series is also getting a movie reboot and we now know who’ll be starring in that movie and it’s quite a star-studded cast.

The Resident Evil movie which is being created by Writer/Director Johannes Roberts in collaboration with Constantin Film is also said to be an origin story taking us to Racoon City in 1998.  The director of the movie has indicated that he wants this movie to be a faithful adaptation “With this movie, I really wanted to go back to the original first two games and re-create the terrifying visceral experience I had when I first played them whilst at the same time telling a grounded human story about a small dying American town that feels both relatable and relevant to today’s audiences“.

The cast to star in the Resident Evil movie are as followed:

  • Kaya Scodelario (Maze Runner, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) as Claire Redfield
  • Robbie Amell (The Tomorrow People, The Flash) as Chris Redfield
  • Hannah John-Kamen (Ant-Man & The Wasp, Ready Player One) as Jill Valentine
  • Aven Jogia (Zombieland: Double Tap) as Leon S. Kennedy
  • Tom Hopper (The Umbrella Academy, Game of Thrones) as Albert Wesker
  • Neal McDonough (Arrow, Captain: America: The First Avenger) as William Birkin

Sadly we have no release window for the movie at the time of writing, but I would guess that it might be at least two years away.  Are you looking forward to this Resident Evil movie reboot and what do you make of this cast?  Personally, I think there are some great casting choices here, especially with Jill Valentine and Claire Redfield.  But let us know your opinion across our social media channels.
