Accessory Review: Nacon Pro Compact Controller (Camo)
The Pro Compact Camo controllers from Nacon are available now in Camo Green and Grey. Both controllers are exactly the same, so whatever tickles your fancy.
I’ve been a big fan of Nacon controllers for a few years now and recent controllers from the company are no exception.

Many years ago, third-party controllers were often frowned upon and were mostly used for a friend or younger sibling to use. Don’t get me wrong, I still prefer official Microsoft and Sony controllers, however, Nacon always brings high-quality alternatives.
Easy-to-use app
The Nacon Pro Compact controller comes with a customisable button and analogue configuration. It also features trigger sensitivity and vibration motor adjustment, which can all be programmed via the Nacon Pro Compact App available on the Microsoft Store. This app is really easy to use and once you are happy with your tailored control scheme, unplug and away you go.
The Nacon Pro Controller also features a 4- or 8-way d-pad, handy for fighting games such as Mortal Kombat, Tekken and Street Fighter. Other functions include the View, Menu, Nexus and Share buttons which you would commonly find on the official Xbox controller.
Loads of handy functions
Furthermore, it also features a 3.5 audio jack for your headset, the controller is also Dolby Atmos compatible (depending on the headset). The controller is also connected by a long three-metre braided USB 3.0 cable.
It has to be said that in terms of functions, the Camo controllers are the exact same as the black and white Nacon Pro Compact that I reviewed back in 2021.
Only with one comforting difference. Unlike the black and white versions, which are hard plastic, the Camo controllers have a subtle, rubbery texture. Of course, it is a little more comfortable to use and gives you a little extra grip for extended gameplay sessions.
A cheaper alternative
Finally, at the time of writing, the Nacon Pro Compact Camo controllers have an RRP of £49.99 at retailers such as Argo in the UK. Which for me personally offers decent value for money, if you were after a cheaper, alternative controller. However, if you do a bit of window shopping, you might even find it a little cheaper.
