Accessory-making NYXI is releasing a Nintendo GameCube-inspired controller for the Switch.

In my opinion, the GameCube controller is one of the best of all time and it’s great seeing it revived in such a modern way with a host of improvements and features.

Dubbed the NYXI Wizard, this nostalgic controller features:

  • Hall Effect analogue sticks eliminate drifting, a common problem of the Joy-Con.
  • The controller has mapping and turbo functions.
  • Interchangeable joystick rings.
  • Illuminated ‘ABXY’ buttons.
  • Slip-free design for added grip.
  • One-key way-up and screenshot functions.
  • Each end of the controller can be detached to place the Switch tablet in between, similar to the Joy-Con.
  • The ZR/ZL buttons are: “quieter, lighter, have less resistance, and have shorter trigger distances to help you shoot faster.

In terms of performance, the NYXI Wizard has:

  • Bluetooth connection of up to 10 metres.
  • Average battery life of 8.5 hours.
  • A full-charge time of 2.5 hours.

Where can I order this controller?

At this time, I can’t find any retailers that stock the controller. Hopefully, that will change in the near future. For now, you can order directly from NYXI Gaming for $69 USD or £57.52.
