Nightdive Studios and Prime Matter have announced that a new playable demo is available now for the System Shock remake.

The System Shock remake is a recreation of the original that arrived in 1994, but now with the enhancements of the modern era. The playable demo is part of the Steam Next Fest celebrations which runs from 6th Feb to 14th Feb.

In the System Shock remake, it combines: “cult gameplay with all-new HD visuals, updated controls, an overhauled interface and all-new sounds & music (it even has the original voice actor of SHODAN) the demo will allow players to experience the whole of the opening level – with no restrictions – as you face SHODAN and her terrifying minions.

Players will need to use a combination of stealth, cunning and futuristic weaponry to make their way through Citadel Station’s all-new areas, traps, puzzles and secrets to reach SHODAN. Facing them is an army of hostile and mutated creatures – created and controlled by SHODAN herself – players will need to either fight or avoid to survive.

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit only)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-2400/AMD FX-8320 or better
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 670 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB or better
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 2 GB available space

RECOMMENDED:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit only)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-3770/AMD FX-8350 or better
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 970 4GB/AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB or better
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 2 GB available space

System Shock is available to pre-order for PC via Steam, GOG and the Epic Game Store. The title will also be released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. It is rumoured to release this year.
