The release of the highly anticipated Alan Wake II is nearly upon us with its arrival next month.

Alan Wake II takes place directly after the events of the first game, well, more accurately, it’s two DLC episodes, ‘The Signal’ and ‘The Writer’. According to How Long to Beat, the first Alan Wake campaign takes around 11 to 13 hours to finish, and more when you hunt down all its secret collectables.

However, when talking on a recent episode of the Kinda Funny Daily show, Remedy Entertainment’s creative director (and the OG Max Payne), Sam Lake revealed that it will take around 20 hours to finish the story of Alan Wake II. I assume this does not include all the extras that may come with the game.

Alan Wake II will be split into two campaigns, one from everyone’s favourite troubled writer, Alan Wake and the other from the FBI agent Saga Anderson. It will be interesting to see not only the quality difference between the two campaigns but roughly how much time is divided between each.

Following a recent (but short) delay, Alan Wake II will be released on 27 October for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
