Alan Wake 2 gets first gameplay trailer and October release date

During the PlayStation Showcase event, we were not only treated to the first Alan Wake II gameplay, but we also got a release date.

The gameplay trailer was about as creepy and mysterious as you would expect from the series, featuring a totally bemused novelist. To be fair, after the events of the first game, I think we’d all be a tad bemused.

Ritualistic murders in a small town. A writer trapped in a nightmare. An FBI agent looking for answers.

Two realities. Two hero characters. One horror story that wants them dead.

The trailer introduced a female FBI agent, who looks to be a playable character alongside Mr Wake. It also seems like the element of horror has been cranked up several notices and the sequel is certainly looking promising at this point.

Published by Epic Games and developed by Remedy Entertainment once more, Alan Wake II will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 17 October 2023.
