Alan Wake 2 will get ‘significant’ free DLC

The release of Alan Wake II is nearly upon us and already, talk of upcoming DLC is making the social media rounds.

As confirmed by the creative director at Remedy Entertainment, Sam Lake during a recent EGX stage interview not only will Alan Wake II benefit from two paid expansions, but it will also receive “pretty significant” free DLC.

“We do have free DLC drops coming, and they are pretty significant. I’m expecting us to be going into more detail pretty soon after the game is out, but all of that will be free for everyone who gets the game,” said the OG face of Max Payne. 

The two paid expansions will be called Night Springs and Lake House. Sam Lake also confirmed that despite Alan Wake II being designed with a cinematic 30fps vision, a performance mode will arrive via a post-launch update.

Alan Wake II will be released on 27 October for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
