Alex Kidd in Miracle World Remake Announced and Here’s Its Trailer!

Comments Off on Alex Kidd in Miracle World Remake Announced and Here’s Its Trailer!

The original Alex Kidd in Miracle World released way, way back for the Sega Master System in 1987 for Europe and North America, and a year earlier for Japan.  We’ve been seeing some fantastic Sega remakes as of late with Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap and even though it’s technically not a remake, we were also treated to Streets of Rage 4.

I was a big fan of Alex Kidd in Miracle World as a child, which at the time I played the game as it was built-in to my Sega Master System 2, but for whatever reason, I didn’t think that we’d get a remake of this particular classic, but I couldn’t be happier to see it announced.

Developed by Merge Games (Spirit of the North) and Jankenteam, this remake will not only feature levels that were in the original, but we’ll also be getting some brand new levels too.  Not only that, but the lore of Alex Kidd will be expanded upon, and we’ll also be getting gameplay improvements.

Boss fights will return with new battle mechanics, along with a new Boss Rush Mode, which will be a gauntlet of boss fights, so you better get brushing up on your Rock, Paper and Scissor skills!  Additionally, you’ll also be able to switch between the remade graphics and the original version too, at a press of a button, and the games soundtrack has also had the same treatment.

While we don’t have a set release date as of yet, but Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX is expected to release in 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
