For survival horror fans, the Alone in the Dark remake is one of the most highly anticipated games to release this year. However, fans will have to wait a little longer.

Alone in the Dark was scheduled to release next month, but rather than being delayed for extra polish or more time to cook in the oven, it’s being delayed to avoid the bust release schedule.

The games releasing in October (at the time of writing) include Assassin’s Creed Mirage (5 October), Forza Motorsport (10 October), Lords of the Fallen (13 October), Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (20 October) and Alan Wake II (27 October) to name but a few.

So now, instead of being released next month, Alone in the Dark has a new release date of 16 January 2024. “Our intention is to avoid competing with the wake of Alan’s epic release and to evade the dazzling skyline of cities adorned by the graceful swings of Spider-Man. We aim to truly remain as Alone in the Dark as possible,” stated the press release.

“To honour this, the spine-chilling horror game has been rescheduled to unveil its horrors on January 16th, 2024. This extension will serve a dual purpose: not only will it permit us to meticulously perfect the gaming experience, but it will also grant us the opportunity to fully immerse ourselves in the remarkable releases of October.”

Alone in the Dark will be released for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
