Prior to its release this coming October, we’re led to believe that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will take us back to where the series began, at least in terms of gameplay.

To be fair, from what I’ve seen so far, that looks to be true. Assassin’s Creed Mirage will have less of a focus on RPG elements, and more on stealth, akin to the earlier games in the series. It will also have a much smaller map, though, by the looks of things, it’s still quite sizable.

However, during Ubisoft Forward we got our best look yet at Assassin’s Creed Mirage and by the looks of things, all that we’ve been told before appears to be true. In fact, it almost feels like this is a reboot of the original game, and I like it.

In the gameplay walkthrough, we see the main protagonist Basim (from AC Valhalla) in his origin story, being sent out on an assassination mission with stealth being of the utmost importance. Players will traverse across rooftops and on the ground, utilising Basim’s best parkour skills.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be released on 12 October 2023 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
