It’s been a while since we’ve seen or heard anything new on Ubisoft’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

Thankfully, we were treated to an impressive gameplay trailer at Ubisoft Forward, as well as a six-minute gameplay walkthrough. Visually it looked quite stunning showcasing the abilities of the Na’vi taking place around 15 years after the movies.

Developed by Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment, the gameplay did look to be inspired by Far Cry, so I hope that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is more than just a reskin with added bells and whistles. It will be played in a first-person perspective using both traditional Na’vi weapons and those that are man-made. Combat can take place on the ground or to the skies courtesy of your Leonopteryx.

What’s more, the entire campaign can be played solo or two-player online co-op. It will also feature a levelling up and skill-tree system. All in all, the game looks impressive. Hopefully, it will live up to expectations.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be released for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 7 December 2023.
