Back 4 Blood Beta Kicks Off Next Month, Modes Detailed

WB Games and Turtle Rock Studios have announced that the Back 4 Blood beta will kick off on August 5^th, and they have detailed the modes that we will be able to play.

The Back 4 Blood open beta will have a mixture of co-op and PvP modes. The PvP mode available is called Swarm. In this mode, two teams of four will compete against each other in a best-of-three series.

Added details on the Back 4 Blood beta can be found below:

• Two maps for the “Swarm” PvP mode
• Two co-op maps to fight off Ridden with your friends
• Play as Mom for the first time, as well as other Cleaners: Evangelo, Holly, Walker and Hoffman
• Play as six different Ridden variants in “Swarm,” including the Bruiser, Retch, Hocker, Exploder, Crusher and Stinger
• Various weapons to check out, cards to build decks and Ridden to slay
• Explore the Fort Hope communal hub
• Cross-play and cross-gen support

Those that pre-order Back 4 Blood will gain early access to the beta from August 5^th to the 9^th. If you haven’t pre-ordered the game, you can register to take part in the early access beta here. However, the beta will become open across all platforms from August 12^th to the 16^th.

Back 4 Blood will release for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on October 12^th.
